- Every time she drinks beer, she feels sick. Beer doesn't agree with her.
Strange beds have rarely agreed with me.
Life in the city has never agreed with me.
If a particular food or drink does not agree with you, it makes you feel ill. = upset
(COBUILD Phrasal Verbs, 2013年) 用例→ My milk didn’t agree with the baby.
- If some food that you eat does not agree with you, it makes you feel ill.
- I don’t think the food here agrees with me.
If something agrees with you, it makes you feel healthy and contented. = suit
- The sea air really agrees with her.
Cambridge
if a type of food or drink does not agree with you, it makes you feel slightly ill. (Cambridge Phrasal Verbs, 2006年)
- I tend to avoid onions – they don’t agree with me.
- Those onions I ate didn’t agree with me.
If a situation or new conditions agree with you, they make feel healthy and happy.
- You look well---the mountain air must agree with you.
If new situations or conditions agree with you, they are right for you and make you feel happy.
- The sea air seemed to agree with him---he looked fitter than he had in a long time.
- It’s good to see you looking so well--- motherhood obviously agrees with you.
agree の項で+ withとして to be suitable for or pleasing to someone の定義を示しているだけ。
- The climate agrees with you. [=the climate suits you] ※パラフレーズは suit
- Spicy food doesn’t agree with me. [=spicy food makes me feel unwell]
if a situation or away of living agrees with you, you enjoy it and you feel happy and relaxed
- I find that country life really agrees with me.
if something such as food or drink does not agree with you, it makes you feel ill: Stop taking the medicine if it doesn’t agree with you.
if something you have eaten or drunk disagrees with you, it makes you feel ill ≠ agree with
2. if a situation or way of living agrees with you, you enjoy it and feel happy and relaxed
- I find that country life really agrees with me.
3. (agree with someone) if something such as food or drink agrees with you, it does not make you feel ill
- Stop taking the medicine if it doesn’t agree with you.
Longman の句動詞辞典 (1983年) では、agree with に対して次の定義 to suit the health of (someone)を与え受け身不可で時制は単純形という制約を示している。
- The onions did not agree with me, and have given me a pain.
- Does the thin mountain air agree with you?
disagree with の定義には、 (of food, air, or weather) to harm the health of (someone) とあるが、weatherを主語とした用例はなし。 City air disagrees with me.
if something such as food or weather disagree with you, it has a bad effect on you or makes you ill.
- Seafood always disagree with me.
一方のagree with では、項目立てを not agree withとし、次の定義を与えている。
if a type of food does not agree with you, it makes you feel ill
- Green peppers don’t agree with me.
Oxfordの句動詞辞典 (1993年)では、disagree with に have a bad effect on (sb’s health etc) という定義を与え、主語には food, meal; fish, wine; heat, humidity と典型例を列挙している。
- Hot climates disagree with her.
if something, especially food, disagrees with you, it has a bad effect on you and makes you feel ill
agreeでは、句動詞 not agree with somebody を立て、主語に縛りを与えた (of food) to make you feel ill と定義づけし、次の用例を示している。
- I love strawberries, but they don’t agree with me.
have a good effect on; suit:
- This food does not agree with me; it makes me sick.

It is sad to see this striking, characterful bird having to be put to sleep. His small, clawed feet are gnarled with arthritis now too severe to treat.

A corresponds to B as CのABCともに比較・増減の表現。
前景のthe increase in casesの名詞increaseとa historic spike in the greater … regionの「急増+より広域」の間に比例関係

https://t.co/TJJqGwRzRi

as節にはfurther。keep … at bay「… https://t.co/wZaDezAFTu
